Ceramic and porcelain

Although both are made from fired clay, ceramic and porcelain differ in their composition and properties.

Ceramic is fired at lower temperatures, giving it a lower density and higher water absorption. It works well in low-traffic areas and dry spaces.

Porcelain, fired at much higher temperatures, offers superior density and minimal water absorption. More resistant to scratches, impact and stains, it is ideal for wet areas and high-traffic spaces.

In terms of cost, porcelain is generally more expensive than ceramic, due to its more complex manufacturing process and superior performance.
